About Lax Dude Dad

Just a Dad, a Dude, and a Lacrosse Fan

Hello! I'm Ryan — the Lax Dude Dad.

There's no production line here. No warehouse full of employees. When you order a custom head from LaxDudeDad.com, I'm the guy who dyes it, strings it, packages it, and sends it your way.

And that's exactly how I want it.

I've been an artist and craftsman pretty much my entire life. I spent years working professionally in graphic and web design. I've owned a brewery and personally brewed the craft beer. I've designed, built, painted, created, and tinkered with more things than I can probably remember. No matter what I've been doing, color, art, craftsmanship, and creativity have always been at the core of it.

Eventually, that creative obsession collided with another lifelong love: lacrosse.

Lacrosse Has Always Been Part of the Story

I was a goalie at Shippensburg University, and years later found myself back between the pipes — this time coaching goalies for the Manheim Township Boys Youth Lacrosse Association. Somewhere along the way, I started stringing heads. Then I started dyeing them. And things escalated quickly.

What began as making sticks for my son, his teammates, friends, and local players turned into experimenting with new dyes, fades, masks, patterns, pockets, mesh, strings, and techniques. Eventually I realized I had found the perfect combination of the things I've always loved:

Lacrosse. Art. Color. Design. And making cool stuff with my own two hands.

That became Lax Dude Dad.

These days, lacrosse is a family affair. My son is a rising freshman who's looking forward to playing high school lacrosse, while my daughter is heading into her senior year of high school as a D3 volleyball commit. Sports are a pretty big part of life around our house.

Your Head Is Made by Me

Every custom head you see on this site is hand-dyed and hand-strung by me.

When you build a custom head on LaxDudeDad.com, you're choosing the colors, mesh, strings, shooters, pocket setup, and details. Then I take those choices and turn them into your stick.

That personal connection matters to me. I'm not interested in cranking out hundreds of identical heads. I want each build to feel like it belongs to the player who ordered it.

Sometimes that means tracking down a specific head or dye color. Sometimes it means figuring out how to pull off an idea I haven't tried before. And sometimes it means staring at a lacrosse head in my basement thinking, "Okay…how the hell am I going to do this?"

That's part of the fun.

Built by a Lacrosse Dad, for Lacrosse Players

Lax Dude Dad isn't some giant lacrosse brand pretending to be personal.

It's actually personal.

It's one dad, one garage, a whole lot of dye, mesh and string — and a genuine love for making lacrosse heads that players are fired up to put on a shaft and take onto the field.

Whether you're ordering one of my ready-to-ship heads or designing something completely your own, I appreciate you trusting me with your stick.

You dream it up. I'll build it.
